Grip variants for walking sticks

A walking stick should not only look beautiful, but should first and foremost support the wearer and lie optimally in the hand. To ensure this, we offer different grip types for every taste and every hand. The handle shape of the handle plays an essential role in the handling and the possible applications of a walking stick, so it is useful to familiarize yourself with the different types of handles.

Fritz grip

A classic among the handle shapes is the fritted grip. It owes its name to the "Old Fritz", the Prussian King Friedrich II.

The Fritz grip was designed especially for people with painful wrist problems such as arthritis. The pressure points in the middle area of the hand are minimized and thus the wrist is relieved. Due to the ergonomic shape of the handle, the walking stick is not only a piece of jewelry and accessory, but also an effective help for people with slight walking impairments.

We offer a large variety of canes with fritted handles made of different materials. So you can choose the grip that is the most flattering, skin-friendly and of course most appealing for you. You can choose from walking sticks with wooden grips, leather grips, acrylic grips, chromed grips or also with grips with a pleasant soft-touch coating.

Derby grip

The Derby grip is one of the most popular grip shapes. The grip was invented by Lord Derby in a time when a walking stick was more of an accessory and status symbol than a walking aid. The more elaborate and strikingly decorated the handle was, the better. Above all, Lord Derby wanted an elegant walking stick that could also be attached to his arm.

The elegant, curved shape fits very well in the hand and offers support and stability. The Derby grip can be used with either the left or right hand.

Our range of walking sticks with Derby grip is very large. We have both grips in different materials and with different finishes. So you can choose the handle that is the most flattering, skin-friendly and, of course, the most attractive for you. You can choose for example walking sticks with wooden grips, acrylic grips, chromed grips, cork grips, soft grips or also with grips with a pleasant soft-touch coating.

Fischer grip

The Fischer grip was developed by an Austrian physician named Fischer and is characterized in particular by its anatomical shape. The handle has large grip cups on which you can rest the entire palm of your hand. This means an even distribution of pressure and thus also pressure relief for the wrists. Due to the anatomical adaptation to the hand, the walking stick can be used with either the left or the right hand. Due to the one-sided use, the grip offers a very secure hold and more comfort than grip variants that can be used on both sides. Our walking sticks with fisher grip are available in different materials and in unusual designs. We have grips made of acrylic, chrome-plated, with a pleasant soft-touch surface or as hard grip. Choose the walking stick that suits you. With a Fischer grip you are always safe on the road.

Anatomical grip

The anatomical grip offers you a secure hold due to the larger hand rest. Likewise, the pressure is better distributed and thus the wrist is protected. Due to the larger support, the handle offers increased comfort and even during longer use, the use of the walking stick does not become unpleasant. The pronounced shape at the beginning of the handle provides additional support. This is located between the thumb and the index finger and prevents the hand from slipping off the grip. Our assortment of walking sticks with anatomical grip is very large. We offer grips in different materials as well as with different processing. So you can choose the handle that is the most flattering, skin-friendly and of course most attractive for you. You can choose for example walking sticks with acrylic grips, chromed grips, carbon grips or also with grips with a pleasant soft-touch coating. Some of our anatomical grips are also equipped with a reflector, which provides additional safety in the dark.

Knob

The knob as a grip shape is available in a wide variety of designs. It serves primarily as an accessory and piece of jewelry. Due to the very small hand resting area and the less ergonomic design, the walking stick with pommel is not suitable for people with hand problems. It also offers little to no relief when walking. We have some special and unusual walking sticks with knob or knob-like handle in our program. We have a simple grip in amber look as well as various animal heads in wood look or chrome-plated. If you want a unique accessory and do not need the walking stick temporarily to relieve you while walking, the walking stick with pommel might be just right for you.

Round hook grip

The round hook grip belongs to the traditional grips. The grip is shaped in such a way that the walking stick can easily be hung over the arm. The round hook grip is simple and plain in its shape and can therefore be used on both sides. Due to its elegant and simple shape, the walking stick with round hook grip can be used not only as a walking aid but also as an accessory or walking stick. We offer some wooden sticks with round hook grip. In our assortment are grips in chestnut, beech wood, chrome-plated, plastic or with leather. If you want an elegant and noble walking stick for an easy walking support, our wooden sticks with round hook grip are the right accessory.

Relieving grip

The relieving grip is similar to a golf club and was developed to relieve the leg without overloading the hand. This is possible because the contact surface between the hand and the grip has been enlarged. The ergonomic design of the grip distributes the pressure from the palm of the hand evenly and prevents punctual force peaks within the hand. Thanks to the relieving effect on the wrist, the grip is well suited for people with wrist problems. Nevertheless, the walking stick provides safety when walking and offers support. We offer the relieving grip mounted on a carbon stick. The grip is ergonomic and therefore suitable for both right and left hand. Due to the soft-touch surface in matt black, the handle not only looks elegant, but also offers a special grip and provides a comfortable feeling with its velvety surface.

Gooseneck grip

The gooseneck grip is ergonomically shaped and lies comfortably in the hand due to its non-slip and velvety surface. Due to the special shape, the pressure of the palms is evenly distributed. And due to the special construction of the handle and the stick, the walking stick guarantees high stability and low weight at the same time. The handle is more ergonomic and therefore the gooseneck grip can be used on both sides. Our walking stick with gooseneck grip can be loaded up to 180 kg and offers a high level of safety when walking, despite its low weight. This is due to the special construction of the grip and the walking stick.
